What is ISTEP?
ISTEP stands for Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress Plus (ISTEP+). It is designed to measure student achievement in the subject areas of English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. In particular, ISTEP+ reports student achievement levels according to the Indiana Academic Standards that were adopted in November 2000 by the Indiana State Board of Education. An Applied Skills Assessment and a Multiple-Choice Assessment are used to measure these standards; they are required components of the ISTEP+ program. The scores are utilized by local school corporations to determined the level of mastery that your child has achieved. Student scores help teachers better individualize instruction to meet each student's needs.
2014 ISTEP Testing Dates
Applied Skills: March 2-11
Multiple Choice: April 27- May 15
